Tell us about your business
There is no need for polished marketing copy. We want to understand what you do, who you help and why a website would matter.
You don’t need a logo, photographs or professionally written content to enter. We’ll help the selected business with that.
Competition terms
- Promoter: Mustard Software Ltd trading as Startup Websites, Office 11 Navigation Business Centre, Mill Gate, Newark, England, NG24 4TS, United Kingdom (“the Promoter”). This promotion is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Facebook.
- Eligibility: Open to UK residents aged 18 or over who own, work for or are authorised to represent a UK business. Employees of the Promoter, members of the judging panel and their immediate families may not enter. The Facebook advert may be shown locally around Newark, but residence within ten miles of Newark is not an entry condition.
- Entry period: Entries open at 12:00am on 1 September 2026 and close at 11:59pm on 30 September 2026 (UK time). Entries received outside this period will not be accepted.
- How to enter: Complete and submit the entry form at startupwebsites.co.uk/win. One entry per business. Entry is free and no purchase is necessary. Automated, incomplete, illegible or fraudulent entries may be rejected.
- The prize: One website package comprising the design and build of a single-page, mobile-friendly business website, one standard available .co.uk domain registration for two years, hosting for two years and email forwarding. The package’s normal selling price at the start of the promotion is £295. Paid email mailbox hosting, ecommerce, bespoke software, professional photography, logo design, premium domains and ongoing content changes are excluded. The prize is non-transferable, has no cash alternative and must be used for the winning business.
- Additional offers: Four other entrants will each be invited to purchase the same package for £100. These are optional promotional offers, not prizes. No entrant is required to accept or buy anything.
- Judging: Eligible entries will be scored equally against the published criteria: business clarity and credibility; the difference a website could make; potential for an effective portfolio website; and readiness to provide content and feedback. A judging panel containing at least one demonstrably independent, suitably competent member will select the highest-scoring entry. Judges’ full names will be available on request. If entries tie, the independent judge’s score on “the difference a website could make” will decide the result. The panel’s decision is final and no correspondence about scoring will be entered into.
- Notification and claim: Selected entrants will be contacted using the entry email address by 7 October 2026. The Promoter will make reasonable efforts to contact them. The winner must reply within seven days; otherwise, after reasonable contact attempts, the Promoter may offer the prize to the next highest-scoring eligible entry.
- Creating the website: The winner must provide reasonably requested text, images, approvals and feedback within 30 days of the first content request. The website will be created collaboratively and should normally be published within 30 days after all usable content and approvals have been supplied. If the winner does not cooperate within these timescales, the Promoter may withdraw the award and select the next highest-scoring entry.
- Publicity: Unless the winner objects, the Promoter will publish or make available the winner’s surname, county and winning entry to show that a valid award took place. The winner can object, or request that less information is published, by emailing info@mustardsoftware.co.uk. The Promoter may still provide this information privately to the ASA if required. Any wider portfolio or social-media feature—including the business name, website and images—will be agreed separately with the winner.
- Fair administration: The Promoter may verify eligibility and disqualify entries that breach these terms. The Promoter will not change these terms or cancel the competition except where circumstances outside its reasonable control make this unavoidable; if that happens, it will act fairly and offer a reasonable equivalent where required.
- Liability and law: Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, the Promoter is not responsible for entries lost or delayed by technical failure outside its reasonable control. These terms are governed by English law and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without removing any mandatory rights an entrant has where they live.
How we use your information
Mustard Software Ltd trading as Startup Websites is the data controller. We use the details you submit to administer and judge the competition, contact selected entrants, prevent misuse and demonstrate that the award was made fairly. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interests in running and documenting the promotion. Where you separately opt into marketing, the basis for those emails is consent and your details will be sent to MailerLite, which acts as an email service provider.
Competition records will be kept for up to 12 months after the closing date, except where longer retention is reasonably needed for a complaint, legal obligation or claim. Marketing details remain until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent. We do not sell your information.
